2010-11 Parent-Teacher AssociationPresident: Machell Fowler - president@moepta.org Welcome to the MOE PTA website! Winner of DCCPTA's Best PTA Website Award (Large Elementary Division) Three Years in a Row!
At the 74th Annual Leadership Conference for Florida PTA, on July 16, 2010, Mandarin Oaks Elementary PTA was among 53 PTAs across the state honored with a Volunteer Award. Many thanks to everyone at MOE who volunteered in the 2009/10 school year and helped us earn this honor! And of course we are so proud of our own Mr. Champagne, DCPS's Teacher of the Year, who made it all the way to the final round of five finalists for FLDOE's Teacher of the Year. For more information on these and other honors, please see our Honors page.
Here is a link to DCPS registration information.
With the 2010 Census underway, the Florida House of Representatives has launched www.myfloridacensus.gov to make sure that every Floridian gets counted, and we need your help! Each Floridian not counted means between $900 and $3,000 dollars a year in missed Federal funds. These lost funds will have to be made-up by local taxes or less services. MyFloridaCensus is a simple online tool that allows anyone in Florida to tell us whether or not they have been counted in the 2010 Census. With that information in hand, the Florida House of Representatives is able to work with other census partners to help analyze (and thereby minimize) which streets, neighborhoods and communities may go missed in the 2010 Census. Please click the link www.myfloridacensus.gov and put in your address; then, click on the button to tell if you have been counted by the census or not. This will put a point on the map to show where people have and have not been reached by the census.
Parent Grade Portal - Duval County Public Schools recently launched a new web site tool for parents to see individual student information, including grades, attendance, a school calendar and more. Parents will need to register for a login and password at Mandarin Oaks in the front office. Picture ID is required to receive your Username and Password.
MANDARIN OAKS ELEMENTARY: Nine FCAT A's in a row! A big thanks to all the teachers, students, parents, and staff who have worked so hard to make this achievement a reality!

- Join MOE PTA! Dues are just $5 for the whole school year. Membership envelopes are available in the school office OR print a copy of this form; just fill it out and send it along with payment to your student's teacher. With your membership, we can continue to support our school by purchasing planners for all our students, supporting Sunshine Math and Great Leaps reading Programs, and helping Resource Teachers fund supplies. Our biggest recent past projects include the completion of 2 playgrounds, revitalizing the Kindergarten playground, and providing technology to the classrooms. Thank you to everyone who has supported the efforts to enhance the educational experience of all our students here at MOE! More information on joining PTA here. Volunteering and attendance at General Meetings are not required, but are encouraged. In addition, here are some great new local benefits you can get simply by being a card-carrying PTA member!
